Eric Virgil is a member of The Florida Bar and the North Carolina State Bar. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). In 2011, he was awarded the Judge Maria M. Korvick Award for exemplary service to the bench, bar, and community in probate and guardianship matters and awarded the Bonnie L. Cooper Memorial Probate & Guardianship Award from the Dade County Bar Association Legal Aid/Put Something Back.
Eric chaired the Digital Assets and Information Committee and is the past Vice-Chair of the Guardianship Practice and Advanced Directives Committee of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. Eric is the past chair of the Dade County Bar’s Probate and Guardianship Committee. In addition to his positions already noted, Eric is an active member of the Probate and Trust Litigation Committee and Probate Law and Procedure Committee of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar. He is also a member of ACTEC’s Digital Property Task Force and its Elder Law Committee. Eric is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating a lawyer can attain from that nationally-known directory. He graduated with honors from both the University of Miami and from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Law. He has lectured before many professional groups on trust, estate, and guardianship administration, trust, estate and guardianship litigation, and related topics.
